If you are a BC Automobile Association member, you can pick up a road safety sign free from any BCAA location.  The TIVFD will place them at appropriate spots on our roads if you drop yours off at the fire hall on Mission Road.  Thanks!

Extract from the BCAA website above:

More than 2,400 child pedestrians are seriously injured and approximately 30 are killed each year in Canada. Most of these injuries occur in September and October.

This back-to-school season, BCAA is offering "Slow Down, Kids Playing" signs, which can be displayed on residential properties. The signs are a reminder to drivers to pay close attention to their surroundings when driving through areas where kids are likely to be present.

Now available at all BCAA Service Centre locations across the province, the "Slow Down, Kids Playing" signs are free of charge for BCAA Members and only $5 for other B.C. residents.

Tips for drivers:

--Slow down and watch out for kids...

--Expect the unexpected...

--Let kids out on the side of the car closest to the sidewalk...

--Follow the rules of the road...

--Do not pass school buses when their red lights are flashing...

--Use extra caution in adverse weather conditions...
