Campfire Ban to be lifted Friday August 30th

The campfire ban on Thetis Island will be lifted at noon Friday August 30th and campfires WITH A PERMIT and less than 20 inches by 20 inches, with a shovel and water source at the site will be allowed.  No other outdoor fires (campfires without a permit, burn barrels, incinerators, yard wasted piles, fireworks, sky lanterns etc.) are allowed until Nov.1st.  The permit pager will be activated at 9 a.m. Friday August 30th at 250-715-9131 and campfire permits may be obtained between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.  You may also apply on-line at any time by using the link at http://www.thetisislandfire.ca/burn-permits.html and the TIVFD will contact you within 24 hours.
