Mark your calendars for September 27 and 28, 2014!

Thetis Island’s Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea invite you to join in the festivities for our Island Harvest Hafla – a fundraising event for the Thetis Island Nature Conservancy (ThINC) in support of the Lower Burchell Hill Nature Reserve Project. All proceeds, over and above our costs, will be donated to ThINC.

A Hafla is, essentially, a Middle Eastern party, and on Saturday night, we open our doors to the community to join the fun – food, dance performances, music, door prizes, and more.  Nettie and Don will be selling Middle Eastern cuisine from 5pm to 6:30, after which a variety of both local and visiting belly dancers will be performing, featuring, of course, our internationally renowned special guest, Amaya.

Amaya also will be offering two Workshops on Saturday, at 10am and 2pm, and a Master Class on Sunday at 2pm, as well as performing at Saturday night’s Hafla.  Saturday’s workshops are open to participants of all levels of experience - even if you have never belly danced before! It’s so fun – come and find out for yourself! To attend the Master class, the participant needs to have taken at least one of Saturdays’ workshops.

Pre-registration is required for the workshops.

The workshops are $30 each, or all three for $75.   First 30 registrants also receive a special DVD by Amaya, as an added bonus. For more information on the workshops or to register, please email Char Aaberg at halakidance@gmail.com

To upload a registration form, you can also click here to visit our Facebook events page.

Admission to the Hafla will be by donation.  This is sure to be a very fun night with good food, great entertainment, and lots of glitz!  We look forward to seeing you there.
