"Wine contains various vitamins and minerals including vitamin B, potassium, calcium, sodium, iron, magnesium as well as boron which helps absorb calcium. Red wine also contains polyphenols which effectively fight viruses such as cold sores. However, resveratrol in particular has been demonstrated to be a potent anti-oxidant (about 20-50 times as effective as Vitamin C alone) and has been demonstrated to have an anti-clotting effect preventing the formation of blood clots in blood vessels. Red wine tends to contain larger quantities of resveratrol than white wine."
