You may not be registered to vote in the upcoming federal election despite having voted here on Thetis Island before. Under the new Fair Elections Act, Elections Canada can no longer promote voting.  To make sure you are registered for the October 19th voting date, you can now register on-line at www.elections.ca/register

When filling out the online form, choose "civic address" and they will list the Thetis Island roads.  When you fill in your mailing address as different, you will be directed to a new form and fill in your post box address.  Your phone and email info is optional but you do have to fill in a "move date" to get the form to send.  Make a best guess at when you moved here.

You can also register at the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford (our new riding) Electoral Office or by mail.

Advance polls are October 9,10,11 and 12 and you will most likely have to travel off island to advance vote, with your voter registration ID. Mail in ballots (Special Ballots) will also be available for registered voters but must be requested before 3 pm October 11th and the completed mail in ballot must reach Elections Canada by 3 pm October 19th or your vote will not be counted.

Please try to make sure you are registered before polling day and tell your friends too.
