This is a reminder that fire permits will be required for yard waste and open air burning on and after April 1st. However, fire forecasting is predicting a warmer, dryer spring than even last year's which led into a very serious summer fire season. With about six weeks left until the official start of fire season, we urge you to get all of your yard waste burning done now. It is possible that we may not be giving out permits for burn piles in April.

Remember that Provincial and Federal regulations do not allow for burning of construction or demolition materials. A good suggestion for your garden branches etc. is to rent, borrow or buy a wood chipper (they come in many sizes) and chip your yard waste to use as moisture retaining mulch around your plants during the coming dry weather.
