These fun community activities in Askew Creek Park will help to improve the fish habitat along the creek as well as the health and well-being of the surrounding ecosystem in general. You can get involved by joining in one (or more!) of our planting parties and/or participating in a Bioengineering workshop with globally-recognized specialist David  Polster.

Here are the details:

Community Planting Parties

Saturday, March 17th 9:30am-4pm

Sunday, March 18th    9:30am-4pm

Saturday, March 24th 9:30am-4pm

Sunday, March 25th    9:30am-4pm

Meet up at the Oak street entrance.

Coffee/tea/hot cocoa/snacks provided! Please bring a bagged lunch if you plan to stay all day.

A selection of gloves, planting tools, and wheelbarrows will be available but you are welcome to bring your own.

Bioengineering Workshop with specialist David Polster: $75 includes optional manual

Friday, March 30  9am-4pm

Classroom day at Chemainus Neighbourhood House; Lunch provided.

Saturday, March 31  9am-4pm

Field day collecting materials and live-staking at Askew Creek Park; please bring a bagged lunch.

If you have already attended one of Dave Polster’s workshops, you are invited to join us on Saturday to practice your skills!
