Come and join ThINC on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday April 22 to celebrate Earth Day, the arrival of spring, and Fairyslipper Forest, Thetis Island's new nature reserve on Burchell Hill. Everyone is welcome.
Saturday April 21
2 pm Walk to see the Fairyslipper orchids on Burchell Hill : Meet at Forbes Hall, dress for the weather (sunshine of course!) Special Guest: Crystal Oberg from the Islands Trust Fund
5 pm Pot luck dinner at Forbes Hall. Bring a dish to share.
7 pm Family Dance at Forbes Hall with the Mt Benson Ceili Band and caller Doug Paterson. All ages. Bring a friend. Everyone dances with everyone. Nature-themed costumes optional. PS.This is not a square dance but a wonderful mix of dances from all over the world.
Sunday April 22
1 pm Pollinator Garden Planting. Meet at the Nature House at The Portal. Bring work gloves.
7 pm Sounds of Springtime Camerata Strings Orchestra Concert Fundraiser for Nature, Sylvan United Church, 985 Shawnigan Lake-Mill Bay Rd. $15 advance/$20 at the door, kids under 12 free. Tickets available on Eventbrite.
