As an ambassador for Canada Parks and Wilderness (CPAWS) I made a commitment to engage in a public education campaign.
The purpose of this campaign was to inform the residents of Thetis Island about the creation of a National Marine Protected Area in the Salish Sea. CPAWS is a not for profit society which works hard and diligently on conservation campaigns across Canada.
Their funding is largely based on donations from supporters. A poster outlining the NMCAR (National Marine Conservation Area) proposed boundaries and other information was made by CPAWS at some cost and was posted at the THETIS ferry terminal community information Board.
It has disappeared. I am asking the person or persons who removed that poster to please put it back. Whether you agree or disagree with the proposed Marine Conservation Area, by removing that poster you have denied other community members access to information, which they are entitled to have.
