SYNOPSIS
(Thurs):An upper ridge brings variable cloud overnight and showers over the north as an offshore upper low swings northeast. Hot and dry conditions will be moderated under more cloud cover and a shift to light inflows with little change to temperatures. No lightning expected.
OUTLOOK (Fri-Sun):A gradual transition into a southwest flow aloft starts, continuing to bring patchy moisture and variable cloud with warm and somewhat dry conditions continuing, and the north drying out as the system departs. An offshore upper trough starts Saturday and instability is expected with increasing winds near the USA border. Warmer temperatures and drier regions persist, and lightning is expected which could range from wet to dry. Sunday sees both the surface and upper feature progress northeast with lingering instability in the lower mainland and winds remaining. Temperatures are expected to fall a few degrees.
