We have noticed that the small airplanes that fly in circles around Thetis seem to have returned after a welcome hiatus. I imagine that the pilots and trainees do not realize the impact they are having, and suggest that it is worth drawing it to their attention. Perhaps they can be encouraged to do this elsewhere.
There is an app or website called Flightrader24.com that can be used to identify the plane in question, and then one can look up a number and phone to let them know the issue. Today it was from a flying club in Victoria.
We are certainly not innocent of making (or contributing to making) a noise at times. However, to us, there is a large difference between the transient noise of a float plane, car, truck or what have you and something that deliberately circles the airspace above the island, spreading the noise as widely as possible for an extended period.
