Hazard Drops To High

The Fire Hazard rating has dropped from Extreme to HIGH.  On Thursday, Sept. 17th, High Hazard Activities can recommence in the mornings but must cease at noon (time change due to a later sunrise) and a two-hour fire watch posted.

Please be aware that HIGH HAZARD means just that.  We are not out of the woods yet, so to speak. As I am typing this Tuesday afternoon, North Oyster is out on a bush fire, despite Monday night’s rain.

No open outdoor fires, including campfires. Propane appliances are okay.  If you must light your indoor wood stove, make sure your chimney cap and spark-catcher mesh is in place and clean.

We are hoping the next few weeks will be uneventful.

Thanks.
