Snowfall: 5cm-30cm

Wind chill values near -10C Monday night

Snowfall:

• Friday afternoon and night: Isolated snow flurries are possible late Friday afternoon and night. Limited accumulations are expected.
• Saturday: Scattered flurries across the region may give a quick trace to 10 cm of snow. This snow will be highly variable and localized.
• Sunday afternoon to Monday night:
  • There is the potential for widespread snow in Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Southern Gulf Islands and Eastern Vancouver Island, with the potential to significantly impact the Monday morning commute.
  • Amounts will be variable, but locally heavy. Expect 5 to 30 cm of snow.
  • Strong easterly winds will develop through the Fraser Valley with the potential for blowing snow to severely reduce visibility.
• Tuesday onwards: Cold conditions will limit snow melt, though additional heavy snow is not expected at this time.

Cold:

• Cold, arctic air will reach the South Coast Sunday resulting in temperatures well below seasonal and strong outflow winds through Howe Sound and the Fraser Valley.
• Cold air and strong winds will result in wind chills that may be near -20 through Howe Sound and the Fraser Valley beginning Sunday night.
• Temperatures are expected to be up to 10 degrees below normal by early next week and cold conditions are expected to persist through the week.
