Want to know when orcas, humpback whales, or other cetaceans are around Thetis Island? We’ve had live details of three visits by orcas since we set this up less than a month ago, including a spectacular one on Friday. The more participants, the more eyes on the sea. How to join:
If you don’t already have the Signal app on your mobile, download it (https://signal.org/), open it, and set it up. Allow notifications.
(Signal is a messaging app like WhatsApp, but non-profit, and not Meta/Facebook.)
Then, on the mobile where you now have the Signal app, click on this link to join the Thetis Cetacean Sightings group: https://tinyurl.com/thetiscetaceans.
Once you’re in, if you spot orcas, porpoises, or other whales around Thetis, send a message to the group saying where they are and where they’re headed. And look out for that info from others.
To protect everyone’s peace, no messages other than sharing real-time info about cetaceans around Thetis.
Happy whale-watching!
