Thetis’s Community Assembly’s IEWG (Indigenous Engagement Working Group) will be hosting its second Indigenous film on July 21, 2025:

Held at the community hall in the evening
1800h - 2000h
The film will be the 2nd feature of a 2-part series created by Peter Campbell of Gumboot Productions presents: Penelakut - Returning to the Healing Circle (2021) - Peter Campbell/Gumboot Productions.

July’s viewing is significant as we approach the March for the Children on August 4, 2025, not 5th as in my last post, starting at the Salish Market, Chemainus. This march commemorates the children lost at the Kuper Island Residential School and across Turtle Island.

Elder James Charlie will join us to welcome attendees to Forbes Hall and provide insights, as well as answer any questions the residents/guests may have after the viewing is complete.
