Do you know, when your phone says that your parcel has been delivered, what that actually means? Is it outside on your doorstep? NO, it is not.
Why? Because they do not delivery your item to your doorstep, because you live on an island.
So your item has been delivered, BUT Where did they Deliver it to?
They delivered your item from their distribution centre, to the nearest Canada Post Depot.
That is where your parcel is!
AND a now, your parcel is in a Canada Post Depot, with all of the other Canada Post mail. Now it will be sorted, and put onto a truck, and sent out to the postal outlet in your area.
FUN FACT: The Canada Post mail, and All of the online shopping parcels are then loaded up and get delivered to Thetis Island on 125pm ferry.
Now, All the mail, and all the parcels, have to be sorted!
Each parcel, has to be scanned into our local system, one by one, written on, a delivery card created, and then placed on a shelf. Then, the Item Notice Card is placed into your PO BOX.
***So please be aware of all these steps that have to happen, after your phone tells you that your parcel has been delivered. YOUR PARCEL IS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM YOUR LOCAL POST OFFICE.
We process a very high volume of mail and parcels at the Thetis outlet.
So, please, REMEMBER when your phone says, ‘your item has been delivered’. It actually means, it’s in the Canada post system somewhere, and now you must wait for your parcel to get processed, along with ALL The Other Mail, and All the other Parcels.
*We get an average of more than 150 parcels every day, and the volume doubles when there are big sales, long weekends, holidays, etc.
Our system was down last week, and everything had to be handwritten and processed without the computer, and we had an official from Canada Post here, changing some procedures. We truly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we are catching up and implementing the new.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, as we can only do one at a time. So PLEASE wait for your notification card in your mailbox. That’s when your item is Actually Available for pick up.
And remember to bring your ID, as we go through the process of updating and implementing the local post office system and procedures.
Thank you
Dana
