After many, many years of service to the community, the Thetis Island Parents Association (TIPA) is transferring the management of the Returnable Container Services Program to the Thetis Island Nature Conservancy as of April 1, 2026. The success of the Returnable Container Program as a fundraiser to support ThINC's nature education, stewardship, conservation, and food security initiatives is dependent on a team of volunteers to do the sorting (estimated time an hour a week or less), and community adherence to the posted sorting protocols. Ron Bannister from Ravenscall Enterprises Ltd will continue hauling the containers to the bottle depot in Ladysmith.

If you are interested in helping out by volunteering your time as a member of the Returnable Container Program sorting team, please attend an orientation session with Ron Bannister on Thursday, March 26 at 4 pm. We'll meet at the returnables deposit container beside the Solid Waste Yard on Pilkey Pt Road. If you'd like to volunteer but can't make the orientation, please get in touch by emailing info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org.

Thank you for your support!
