We have not had the moisture we were counting on to stay at MODERATE hazard, and the fire weather stations around us are all now reporting at HIGH hazard and Thetis Island has moved up to HIGH.
Therefore, on Thursday this week we will start restricting High Hazard Activities. Cease all High Hazard Activities before 1 p.m. and post a two-hour fire watch. Have water close by your work site.
Please report any daytime smoke columns to 911.
Evening campfires are still permitted at this time. Don’t have a campfire in windy conditions and make sure there are no embers left when you leave. The ashes must be cold and wet.
