There is a new must-see artifact in Thetis History Telephone Display at Forbes Hall, courtesy of Tim French. It is one of the first cell phones from 1984, nicknamed The Brick, weighing in at one and a half pounds! If you haven’t seen the display yet, be sure to check out it out before it is gone as it contains some fascinating early history of telephones on Thetis Island. We thank all the generous Islanders who have kindly shared their stories and artifacts with the community by loaning them for the display these past couple of months.

The next Thetis History theme will revolve around Thetis Island Cooks and Cookbooks. If you have old cookbooks, ideas, information or stories to share, or old fashioned cookware you would be willing to loan for display, please contact Nan Beals 4nanbeals@gmail.com or Carol Stoker carol.stoker@icloud.com of TICA Archives.

Also, if you would like to join our “Thetistorian” team doing research we would appreciate any help you could give.

Thank you!
