My name is Jim Senetza, and I am running to be one of our Islands Trust Trustees.

I have been a Thetis Island property owner for 15 years and a full time resident for 7+ years.

I have decided to run for Trustee as the time has come for me to finally step up and do something of meaning for our island. A former neighbour and long time resident of Thetis would ask me all the time about what I can bring to our island. This is a question that has been kicking around in my head ever since.

Now that I've entered into the ranks of the retired, I have chosen the Islands Trust as my first endeavour. I now have the time required to provide my full attention to this rather important file.

To some I may still be viewed as a newcomer, however I feel this gives Thetis the benefit of bringing in a new, fresh perspective for our island. My aim is to blend the old and new together to develop policies that work in Thetis's best interest. Thetis first!

Now I know I'm not well known on Thetis as a whole. Some may remember me by my time working on our ferry. Some may recognize my face, but not know my name.

Well, let's rectify that. I will arrange a number of meet and greets throughout the next month. Dates and times will be announced on eSpokes once determined.

I look forward to meeting as many residents as possible so I can hear your concerns about Thetis and the Islands Trust and share mine. Feel free to reach out to me at any time.
