TVFD Auxiliary Traffic Practice

On Monday, June 15th the TIVFD Auxiliary Traffic Control Practice is scheduled between 9am & 11am, at the School/Community Hall section of North Cove Road.  

Traffic delays should not be longer than 3 minutes.  Please consider the time element if you are taking the 11:10 ferry.

Youth Employment Opportunity

The Thetis Island Nature Conservancy (ThINC) is looking for a fun-loving, active youth between the ages of 16-19 to assist with our second annual summer nature day camp.

The program is scheduled to run from Monday July 6th  _ Friday July 10th at a variety of locations on the island. The hours are from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm .  We are offering $12/hr for this position.  Enthusiasm is a must for this job!

ThINC Nature Camp ~ Sign Up Now

ThINC has a great line-up of biologists coming to our 2nd Nature Camp from July 6-10. Registrations are filling up fast so if you are between the ages of 8 and 12 let us know if you'd like to join us for a fun and informative week of adventure on Thetis Island. Bees, owls, eelgrass, survival and much more.  $50 per person or $75 per family.

Boat Ramp Closed June 17 & 18

The boat ramp will be closed Wednesday June 17 & Thursday June 18 for improvement work.

The  final section of the ramp will have a concrete overlay poured on Wednesday June 17. The new concrete will need to cure on Thursday.  The ramp will reopen Friday morning.

In addition to the overlay, concrete curbing will be poured on the west side of the ramp to help keep us on the straight and narrow.

Thetis Island Marina & Pub ~ Closed Friday at 5:30PM for a Private Function

Thetis Island Marina & Pub would like to let everyone know that on Friday June 12 we will be closing early for a private function. 

Please note the hours for this day only:

The kitchen will be open from 11:30 am until 4:30pm

The pub will be open from 9:00am until 5:30pm.

The Liquor Store will be open for business until 10pm.

Regular hours resume on Saturday - see you soon and enjoy the sun!

Potluck Dinner & Musical Jam Session on Hunters' Beach ~ July 4th

On the same celebration of Gwen theme, there will be a second event on July 4th.

Bring your instruments...bring your tents and if you'd like to contribute to the potluck or need more details, please email Cat at ilovesprocket@outlook.com to let us know what you would like to bring.

The jam session starts whenever the musicians want to play and dinner will be about 6 p.m.

Gwen was such a beautiful person.

Canada Day Sailpast ~ July 1st

In honour of everything that was fun and fabulous about Gwen Hunter, we would like you all to know that the Canada Day sail past and water balloon fight is on!

Fill your balloons,get your boat and crew out there and let's have some fun!

We're leaving Thetis Island Marina at around 11 a.m. and as for a gathering afterwards, we will see where the wind takes us!

Eggs for our Broody Hens?

Wondering if anyone on the island has some fertilized eggs we could put under our broody hens?  Our rooster is gone but the ladies have decided they don't need him.

They are bantams but could hatch any size egg.

Hoping to get some in the next couple days, otherwise I have a source on VI.
