I am helping a Sudanese refugee in Addis Ababa get some training through the British Council courses. Ride Needed to Thetis from Buckley Bay

My friend John Gilmore will be looking after our place while Ann and I are in the Yukon. He's on Denman at the moment and is looking for a ride from Buckley Bay to Thetis on June 12 or 13. North Cove Rd. Fire Drill

The TIVFD and the TIVFD Auxiliary will be conducting a combined wildfire response drill near Mill Road and North Cove Road on Saturday, June 7th morning and early afternoon.

Please be aware that Fire Apparatus and volunteers will be operating on the roads for this essential training workshop.  Please follow traffic direction from our Aux. Traffic Control Team.  

Your safety and the safety of our valuable volunteers is of utmost importance.

Literacy Camp

A reminder about the literacy camp for 6 and 7 year olds, July 7-11, 9:30 - 11:30 for Monday to Thursday with Friday a little different.

Reading and other fun activities are planned. The cost is $10.

Cowichan Wetland Keepers Course

The Cowichan Land Trust has Partnered with the BC Wildlife Federation to offer a Cowichan Valley Wetlandkeepers Course. The course is being offered for free thanks to many sponsors ($100 value).

The course will take place Friday June 20th to Sunday June 22nd. Friday is an evening session from 6:30pom to 9:00pm, Saturday and Sunday sessions run from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Yoga Update

Hello & happy summer to everyone!

Just a brief yoga note, we are shortening our yoga classes to 75 minutes, and Sonya is going to start up the Thursday class again.

Therefore, for June, July, and August we will be offering Gentle Hatha Yoga, beginners welcome, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:45 am starting this week June 3rd.
