A walk in the woods with a Medicine Woman

Sunday April 14th, 10 am

Gathering at the Community Learning Garden

Medicine Woman and Culture Keeper Della Rice Sylvester will guide us on a walking journey exploring traditional medicinal and cultural uses of the surrounding indigenous flora.

Bank and Slope Restoration with Bio-engineering

Saturday April 20, 2-4:30 pm; Sunday April 21, 1-4 pm; Saturday April 27th, 2-5 pm; Sunday April 28th, 1 pm (if required) 

Join us for some hands-on learning in a two-weekend workshop!  We will explore a variety of eco-friendly, accessible, and satisfying techniques that help restore banks and slopes impacted by development and at risk of instability, soil erosion, and plant invasion.

Cost: Suggested $50 donation (proceeds to the Thetis Island Community Fund and ThINC)

Yoga Cancelled for March 26, 27, & 28

I am cancelling this week's classes - my immune system requires rest, so therefore I am going to take care of myself once again this week.  My deepest apologies, take care of yourself and I will see you again on your mat come the first week of April.  Watch for new class ideas yoga for golfers, yoga for gardeners, etc..

Greetings from the Thetis Island Community Church

Blessings to all of you as you prepare your hearts to transition from Palm Sunday to Good Friday this week.  Garry Wicket will be giving the message this Sunday  using the Scripture Reading of  John 10: 1-10, “ I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.”  Tim French will lead the service. Please keep the Missions we support in mind as you plan for your offerings. 

As you know, we normally only have two formal services a month  - on the second and fourth Sundays but because Easter falls on the 5th Sunday of March we  are meeting again.

How could we not?!   If you are new to the island services begin at 10 AM ; everyone is most welcome  to attend and we are “baby friendly”.

Next Sunday we welcome Chris Thomas back to the island and he will again share with us the Easter message.  It is my turn to lead the service.  You may recall Thetis Island Church has a particular tradition for Easter morning  in that we fill a wooden statue of a cross with daffodils – a symbol of rebirth and renewal- so please bring  your flowers along and tuck them into the cross as you come in.
