Mobile Dental Hygiene Service

Hello

I just saw my review in e-Spokes and I wanted to say thank you and my first day went well!
However, the picture and name of the company is incorrect!! The picture is the other girl who works out of the van Anna and her business is Wandering Pearl.

My name is Meghan Mitchell, and my business is Nanaimo Hygiene and I contract and rent the van space. So we are separate businesses!

My website is nanaimohygeine.ca

I think there is some confusion there as my colleague keeps getting emails.
Thank you,

Meghan Mitchell

Thetis Community Assembly: Summary and Minutes

Thursday, January 4th at Forbes Hall the fourth meeting of the now named Thetis Community Assembly was held. 14 organizations were in attendance, with full and interesting reports given on various topics of interest to islanders.  There was a good-sized, engaged audience there to learn directly from the representatives, and we look forward to our next meeting, now scheduled for April 15, 2024.

Warming Center at Forbes Hall

We have all heard that the weather is supposed to get colder over the next several days……

When the overnight temperatures are lower than 0C or 32F Forbes Hall will be opened as a warming center from 9 am -1 pm or when activities are on. So if you need a place to warm up on these days come to Forbes Hall. The criteria will be reassessed daily.

We are looking for volunteers to open the hall and be there during these times. Note when there is an activity at the hall those times are assumed covered. The library is open Saturday 10-1 and Sunday 1-4, Tuesday and Friday there is exercise at 9 am -10:30 am and knitting 2pm - 4pm . Church is on from 10 - noon or so Sunday am

Anybody willing to help please email acanthurus61@gmail.com. My old Shaw email address is no longer in service.

Stay warm.

Robbie Burns Night Tickets are Now Available

A dinner in honour of Scotland’s much celebrated national poet Robert Burns. It will feature a traditional dinner featuring Cock-a-Leekie soup followed with a main course of Haggis (a crumbly sausage, with a coarse oaty texture and a warming peppery flavour) with Neeps and Tatties (that’s rutabaga and potatoes). Sides and sauces will also be served ending with a very fine Scottish trifle dessert. .

Entertainment will include a piper (from the world famous SFU Pipe Band) and highland dancers interspersed with traditional speeches and recitations of his poetry!” Scotch whiskey and other drinks will be available at the cash bar.

Tickets are $50 each. In previous years tickets have sold out, so we encourage people to buy their tickets early. Bringing the gang? Consider reserving a table of 8 for $400.

Contact David Reay regarding tickets. I will be bringing tickets to Soups On tomorrow or reach out to me by text or email.
