Hallowe’en Reminder

The fire hall will be open to little ghosts & goblins etc. from 6 pm to 7 pm on Hallowe’en evening. If your driveway is too long, or you want to see the creative costumes of our island children, bring your treats to the fire hall downstairs. Or you can leave your treats and carved pumpkins at the hall during the day, at the front door and we will be sure to put them out for the witching hour.

Have a safe Hallowe’en.

Vitals Monitoring Clinic – Wednesday, November 1st at Forbes Hall

Every second Wednesday, Community Paramedic, Vinh Pham, holds a Vitals Monitoring Clinic at Forbes Hall in the Care Station, coinciding with Soup’s On.

Stop by the Care Station this Wednesday to have your vital signs checked or to speak with Vinh.

Availability times may be new due to the temporary ferry schedule.
Future Dates: November 15, 29, and December 13

Need Someone with Truck or Trailer

I am looking for someone who could help me get my motor & Engine Mount from my friends house where it’s being stored.

It’s a 4 stroke Mercury 9.9 and a custom made Engine Mount. I would need to be picked up at the Pub so I can help load it and pick it up. It’s located on Pilkey Point Rd.

Halloween Switch Witch Offer

With having new kids on the island, I thought I’d share something I did with mine when they were little, and that I’m happy to also do for others: the Switch Witch.

Kids get so much candy on Hallowe’en and it can be overwhelming when you have littles. The Switch Witch takes their candy and switches it with a gift!

If you need a Switch Witch, please text me at +12504169771 so I can prep. You provide the gift, I can provide the (not scary) witch! And you can have your candy back later if you want it, lol. I’m available after 430pm on Halloween and November 1.

Island Health Influenza and COVID Vaccine Clinic – November 9th – Invitation Clarification

Invitations have been going out this past month to make appointments for the upcoming vaccination clinic in November.

Many islanders received an initial invitation to book their Influenza vaccine appointment that did not include an option to select the COVID vaccine.  

This week, a second invitation came out offering COVID and flu vaccines.  

NOTE: if you already booked your flu vaccine for November 9^th, you do not need to rebook. If you have already booked an appointment for your influenza vaccine and previously have received a COVID vaccination, you will automatically be offered a COVID Vaccine when you go for your influenza vaccine.  

Island Health has been informed of the confusion these second invitations are causing.
