It was wonderful to see so many friends & neighbours at today's Soup's On.
The Soups' On crew is now offering home-baked goods for sale during Soup's On. The items offered will depend on that day's cooks. Payment is to be made to the cooks, not by donation. Please remember to bring a few extra $ to take advantage of some yummy baking.
During the Soup's On events in the week or two prior to an upcoming Supper's On event, there will be a Supper' On sign up sheet provided. You are welcome to sign up, reserve by phone 250-246-4079 or e-mail us with your reservation.
We'll always have extra space for a few walk-ins.
For the first Supper's On on October 6th, view the menu by clicking here.

Glass artisan Carol Swann and carpenter/woodworker Chad Kerr recently completed installation of 3 fused glass tiles in the lobby of the new ER wing at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. Carol’s glass tiles were created to create a focal point for the information desk and create a sense of calm in the waiting area. They are complemented by a custom frame created by Chad using book-matched Thetis Island grown and milled fir. Many Islanders are aware of this project and here are a couple of photos of the project.

Here is the three-part newspaper article that ran in the past few days in the Vancouver Sun. Craig McInnes is a business writer who had interviewed BC Ferries CEO Mike Corrigan last month. He also interviewed the provincial transportation Minister and some FAC Chairs. You can see in these articles he provides perspective on some of the issues involved in the coastal ferries system, including fares, service levels and government funding.
