Community Garden Upcoming Spring Activities

Seed and Seedling Saturday!

April 13th, 2 pm

The Community Learning Garden, Forbes Hall

Bring your left over seeds and extra seedlings for exchange! Chat about your plans for this growing season.  We are working on having some special guests join us, and we'll keep you posted about this in the coming weeks.

A walk in the woods with a Medicine Woman

Sunday April 14th, 10 am

Gathering at the Community Learning Garden

Medicine Woman and Culture Keeper Della Rice Sylvester will guide us on a walking journey exploring traditional medicinal and cultural uses of the surrounding indigenous flora.

Bank and Slope Restoration with Bio-engineering

Saturday April 20, 2-4:30 pm; Sunday April 21, 1-4 pm; Saturday April 27th, 2-5 pm; Sunday April 28th, 1 pm (if required) 

Join us for some hands-on learning in a two-weekend workshop!  We will explore a variety of eco-friendly, accessible, and satisfying techniques that help restore banks and slopes impacted by development and at risk of instability, soil erosion, and plant invasion.

Cost: Suggested $50 donation (proceeds to the Thetis Island Community Fund and ThINC)

                                      Please pre-register!
