High Speed Internet Update

Today I received a (E-Mail) letter from the office of; Hon. Jean Crowder, MP/Nanaimo-Cowichan.
It appears that Hon MP Crowder has been following up on related issues, as well as some of the same complaints from numerous residents in the Cowichan Valley.
I have been sent copies of letters between Minister Moore’s office and MP Crowder’s concerning Hi-Speed access issues.
In the letter from Minister Moore’s office it states the Federal Government is committed to having rural areas have accessibility to Hi-Speed (broadband) networks.
Who know when, or if we will ever have our concerns addressed, but at least we are still on the “Map”, so to speak. I felt it can’t hurt to keep sending letters to members of our government. I have also been in contact, once again, with senior management of TELUS. Though, these communications are going no where.
As I said; It is TELUS-Nothing, where the future is NOT friendly. The last comment from TELUS management was, and I quote; “We consider this matter closed”.
I responded; “Well, you may consider closed, but we surely don’t”.
This OTHER comment from TELUS should really get you fuming; “Does Thetis Island want charity from TELUS”! That was a verbatim quote
Well, who knows, keep the faith as they say, and, there is an election coming soon!

Comment from "Jim" ~ Did you ask Shaw to service the island?
Response from Steve: No one does, not Shaw, not Rogers, not Bill-Bob's Phone Co, Ltd. Nada, zilch.
You can get Satellite, but that's about it. And Sat is Iffy here on this side.
Thanks.
We have filed a formal complaint against Telus for a number of reasons. They also took away the local phone line access for Dial-Up a few months ago. So, Uniserve had to find a long distance number for us bumpkins to use. If you think Dial-Up slow, try connecting a LD number
