Thetis Island's Second Hafla Coming Soon!

The Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea are very happy to announce their second Belly Dance Workshop and Hafla.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 30! Taissia Gloukvova-Sinclair will be holding a Russian Rom Workshop at the Community Hall from 11:00AM – 4:00PM  Learn movements and a short choreography, but most importantly, the feel and the way to interpret music in the Russian Romany style.

Taissia has been dancing for as long as she can remember. Throughout the years she tried various forms of dance, from folk, ballroom, Latin, belly dance, Indian temple dance as well as Russian, Turkish, Indian and Egyptian Gypsy or Rom.  She loves sharing her passion for dance with people, through performing as well as teaching, which she views as facilitating the dancer’s journey of self-expression through different styles of dance.

Workshop - 4 hours - $60

1-2:00 lunch break

Workshop participants are asked to bring a potluck dish to enjoy afterwards.

Doors open at 6:30PMfor dance performances where the public is welcome –admission – free of charge.

Come and enjoy your very own Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea performing a lively traditional Russian Gypsy Dance – “Shatritsa” – the Tent Dance.
