Summer Campfires

We are hoping that this summer is not as dry and hazardous for forest fires as last summer, but we all must continue to be diligent with fire safety.
Last summer we had an extended fire ban, including no traditional wood-fuelled campfires. The Province did allow CSA or UL Approved propane campfire appliances and the TIVFD supports this alternative. These appliances do not throw sparks, have a limited flame height to meet regulations and properly set up and supervised, are safe. They are pricey, starting at just over $100. But if you have a burning desire to enjoy a summer evening campfire, you should consider purchasing one. Local stores such as Canadian Tire, Walmart etc carry them and they are also available on-line.
