TIRRA Bylaw Changes

As presented at the TIRRA October General Meeting, TIRRA is revising the Bylaws to meet new government requirements.

The New Societies Act & Transition

The Societies Act came into effect November 28, 2016 and governs how societies (not-for-profit corporations) are created and run in B.C. The Act includes significant updates to allow for more flexibility in how societies operate, while still protecting the public interest.

At the meeting, Bylaws Chair, Ernie Hunter introduced the document:

Final draft of the proposed changes to the T.I.R.R.A. Bylaws, dated October 26, 2017

Members should do so before the March meeting.  Only members may vote on them at the TIRRA Annual General Meeting, March 22, 2018.

Comments should be directed to Bylaws Chair, Ernie Hunter, phone 250-246-2181
