Student Summer Job Position

The Cowichan Community Land Trust and the Thetis Island Nature Conservancy have a summer intern position opening for a Nature Educator/Stewardship Technician.

This shared position will involve 3 days a week on Thetis Island providing nature education programs to the Thetis Island community and visitors, and 2 days a week in the Cowichan Valley providing stewardship support to land owners and the community while promoting conservation and engaging in habitat monitoring and enhancement activities.

The position can start as early as May 1 in the Cowichan Valley and June 1 on Thetis Island and will run until late August. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years old, be enrolled full-time in a recognized secondary or post-secondary education program and also be returning to school in September 2017. Applicants are preferably studying in one of the following fields: Biology, Environmental Studies, Geography, Natural Resource Management, Fisheries or a related field. Knowledge of local marine and forest ecosystems is an asset. Reliable transportation is a requirement for this job. The position is subject to Canada Summer Jobs funding.
