Rex Heeney

Hello Thetis Islanders,

I'm sending this note to let you know that my father, Rex Heeney died early on Wednesday afternoon.  Some of you may remember dad;  he lived with my mum (Mary, who pre-deceased him by five years) at Pilkey Point up until the end of 1998.

Both my parents loved their time on Thetis.  They formed many enduring friendships while there, and my dad served for a number of years with the volunteer fire department.

My brothers and sisters are still gathering in Duncan, (their home since leaving Thetis), so no plans have yet been made for a remembrance gathering for Rex.  I will send another post to this address when we know more.
