Thetis Island Fire Ban ~ Midnight July 5th

Thetis Island will be under a complete fire ban as of midnight Wednesday July 5th, 2017. No further campfire permits will be issued.
Prohibited fires:
- · campfires
- · fires burning woody debris in outdoor stoves or fireplaces
- · the use of tiki torches, fireworks, firecrackers, sky lanterns, burning barrels or burning cages of any size or description
- · the use of binary exploding targets (e.g. for rifle target practice)
Propane campfire appliances with CSA approved labels will continue to be allowed during this ban.
This prohibition will remain in effect on Thetis Island until October 31st or until further notification.
As of Thursday noon, all fires in the Coastal Fire Region (excluding the Tofino/Ucluelet fog zone) will be prohibited so if you plan on camping in a Provincial Park you should take your portable propane campfire appliance with you.
