Important Thetis/Penelakut Ferry Information

On Thanksgiving Monday (08 October) afternoon, at approximately 2:40PM the BC Ferry MV Kuper will be departing for her scheduled refit at Point Hope Maritime in Victoria, BC and the BC Ferry Kahloke will be commencing service on the Thetis/Penelakut/Chemainus Route.

It is anticipated that there will be some minor delays to the 2:40 PM Departure from Thetis Island on Monday (08 October) while customer vehicles are unloaded from the Kuper, AM & PM Vessel Crews are changed, BCF crew vehicles are loaded onto Kuper, Kuper Departs  and the Kahloke docks & loads the regular traffic.

There will be BC Ferries crew members present at Thetis Island Terminal to ensure that the correct (crew) vehicles for Victoria are loaded onto the Kuper and that passenger vehicles are loaded onto the Kahloke.  Passenger vehicles for Chemainus and Penelakut for the Monday  2:40 PM sailing will be held back approximately 100 feet from the normal stop line to ensure that correct vehicles are loaded, in the correct sequence, onto the correct vessels.

We ask for your cooperation and understanding as we make that change-over on Monday afternoon.

Sincerely,

Captain Michael Cormier

Sr Master MV Kuper
