Chanterelle Rain ~ a Short Film by Gail Noonan / Mayne Island

“Chanterelle Rain” is based on a love song to the summer rains that give us the treasured culinary gift of these prized mushrooms.

Animation is used to create a lush and entertaining homage to the passion and obsession these members of the Fungal Royal Family inspire in mere mortals.

The evocative impact of unconventional materials such as dryer lint, flowers, leaves, wild berries, coloured sand, beads, people and insects - both real and plastic -are used in harmony and counterpoint with the lyrics of the song.

Gail has just released this on social media for all to enjoy.  Perfect viewing for the late summer season on the Gulf Islands.
