Fairyslipper Forest Nature Trail Project

We're building a public nature trail on the Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve over the fall and winter. Want to help?

Join us on Saturday, October 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to kick off the project with a free Trail Building Workshop led by professional trail builder, Riley McIntosh. Riley was instrumental in building the recently opened Penelakut Island trail. The workshop will be hands-on and take place outdoors. Come with sturdy footwear, rain gear, water, a lunch (we'll have some snacks available) and tools (i.e., rakes, leaf rakes, loppers/clippers, shovels, pulaskis, hand saw - folding are best).

Meet at The Portal gate, 254 North Cove Rd at 8:30. There's room to park on North Cove Rd but please pull well off to the side.  RSVP to ThINC@thetisisland.net or call Ann at 250-246-8176 so we have an idea of how many to expect.

This project is made possible by generous support from The McLean Foundation, Thetis Island Residents and Ratepayers Association, Islands Trust Conservancy, the Porter Family and all of you wonderful volunteers.

We look forward to seeing you there, rain or shine, for a fun and energetic time working together for nature.
