Very Sophisticated Banking Fraud - Beware!

This evening I received three phone calls in quick succession from 1-888-872-2422, which the call display identified as CIBC Bank, with the normal CIBC robot voice giving me three different verification codes for online transactions, and telling me, if I did not make these transactions, I was to call the same number (which is numerically very similar to CIBC).  We called the number suggested in the message and realized that we were being asked to give our card number.  Fortunately we stopped in time. We then called CIBC's real number 1-800-465-2422.  They checked and confirmed that they had made no calls to us. Later, we received another two calls, this time both from Ontario, 226-545-0058. 

Please be alert to this scam - it is very believable.
