Coast Salish Canoe Journeys - Paddle to Lummi

Hello fellow islanders,

There is a significant cultural event happening in the waters of the Salish Sea…Coast Salish Canoe Journeys – Paddle to Lummi.

Lisa Wilcox is our Senior Intergovernmental Policy Advisor for the Islands Trust and First Nations reconciliation is one of her responsibilities. Her description of the Paddle Journey to Lummi event is worth reading and sharing.

This link to the Trustee Corner on the Islands Trust website and Lisa’s description of the Paddle to Lummi, a map and a couple of interesting links. (cut and paste to your browser - http://www.islandstrust.bc.ca/islands/local-trust-areas/thetis/local-trustee-corner/.

Penelakut Tribe will be leaving early Saturday morning (July 20, 2019) on their Paddle Journey to Lummi.
