Hazard Rating Drops to High
Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 2:39PM The Fire Hazard Rating drops to HIGH Hazard on Thursday. This means that “early shift” high Hazard Activities can once again commence...chainsawing, excavating, lawn mowing etc. Be aware that HIGH is still a significant fire hazard and we are not out of the woods yet, so to speak. Watch your sparks and ignition points.
No open fires (other than propane campfires). Make sure your chimney has been cleaned before you light your inside wood stoves and your sparks grate is in place.
Salt Spring Station is still reporting at EXTREME so we are at the high end of HIGH hazard for wildfire conditions. Please be careful.
