TIID Wins Grant for TIVFD

The Thetis Island Improvement District has successfully applied for a $25,000 grant for the Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Department to buy equipment for protection of key structures in the event of wildfire.  

The grant is from the Union of British Columbia Municipalities Community Emergencies Preparedness Fund, and $25,000 is the maximum grant available to individual departments.

Fire Chief Jeannine Caldbeck alerted the TIID board to the availability of this grant, and worked with Trustee Shelford to prepare our submission.
