Thetis Island School Wins Award

I wanted to let everyone in the Thetis Island Community know that Thetis Island Elementary School has won a Golden Star Award of $1500.00. This award is from the British Columbia Retired Teachers Association. It is awarded to a classroom and their teacher, who involve senior citizens. There are six classrooms in the province of BC who get this award every year. So this is quite an honour for our school and community. 

We are getting this award because we have amazing community support from our seniors at Thetis Island Elementary School. There will be a presentation with a trophy and certificates on Thetis Island, for our students by members of the British Columbia Retired Teachers Association at a time in the future when we can gather as a group. Our school is also being recognized at our School District 79 board meeting on June 2nd.
