100 Year Celebration of Thetis Island Elementary School
Friday, September 11, 2020 at 7:27AM As many community members know, this is the beginning of an extra special school year. It is 100 years since the first school on Thetis was opened in Sept 1920 in a rustic building on the shore of Telegraph Harbour! Many changes have ensued but one thing that remains the same after a century is a shared sense that our one room schoolhouse is a vital part of our community.
The parents association (past and alumni) have just launched an online celebration of our 100 years as a school-centered community. At this time, due to the pandemic, our celebration is in the form of a public facebook group. Everyone who feels connected with the school (past or present) is welcome to participate in sharing reflections, memories, photos, etc. We hope to eventually create a memory book from what is shared. Here is the link so you can find your way to the facebook group:

Also, today the Courier gave us two pages in print and online. You can see the articles at:

and

Perhaps by end of the year we will be able to celebrate in person! For now, please spread the word about our online celebration!
Thanks and happy anniversary everyone!
