September is Recruitment Month

Traditionally September is recruitment month for fire departments in BC.  Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Dept. welcomes your interest in joining us to train and work together as a team for the emergency needs of your community.  You do not have to be an athlete or a weightlifter.  We welcome women and men with a wide range of life experiences, and we also  have a Junior Fire Fighter program for 15 to 18 year olds.  You might be new to the island or have now retired here after years of seasonal visits, or have lived here for years.  Our team is happy to meet you.

You must be able to commit to attending training nights from 7 pm to 9 pm each Wednesday, rain or shine.  A sense of humour is optional but handy. 

Even if you have never thought of yourself as firefighter-material before, consider that other ordinary Thetis Islanders are already members and making a difference in the lives of residents and visitors in need.  Please E-mail recruitment@thetisislandfire.ca and we will contact you to answer your questions.
