Wednesday Night Fire Call

Five members of the TIVFD were out after 9:30 pm, in the dark, trying to track down the source of heavy smoke in the vicinity of Forbes Road and North Cove Road.  An hour later the smell was dissipating.  We spoke with several residents of the area and they said it had happened before.  

We are in EXTREME fire hazard.  All outdoor burning is prohibited, including campfires and incinerators.  Although not prohibited, burning garbage and paper indoors in your wood stove at this time of year is not advised...sparks and embers emanating from your chimney could start a fire.  And your neighbours are not happy about the stinky smoke.
