St. Margaret’s Cemetery Board Members Request

St. Margaret’s Cemetery is looking for new board members with the hope that one will eventually take on the chair position of the cemetery in fall of 2022.

We are looking for individuals who are willing to become involved with any of the following operations: coordination of cemetery maintenance; investigating and developing a plan for the creation of a possible green cemetery component to the present cemetery; managing the business of the cemetery including being the contact person for the sale of plots and all record keeping and working with bereaved families preparing burial plots at their time of need. Those interested must have a strong commitment to ecologically sound practises in keeping with a mission of care for the earth and all its beings.

St. Margaret’s Cemetery is a registered charity and operates as a sub-committee under TIRRA (Thetis Island Resident and Ratepayers Assoc). Presently the board consists of a Chairperson, a Treasurer, a secretary plus two. The cemetery acts as a service to the residents and property owners of Thetis Island.

This is an opportunity for you to become involved with a much loved and cherished component of the Thetis Island Community. We welcome you to join us with your refreshing energy and ideas!

Please contact Suzanne 250-246-9965 or suzanne.sarioglu@gmail.com  for more information and or questions.
