Updated BC Ferries Notice for Friday, September 9th

Chemainus - Penelakut Island - Thetis Island

Due to crew availability on the Kuper, there is a potential risk of sailing cancellations for the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022. While our crewing teams are working hard to source replacements, the following sailings are at risk if they are unable to do so:

7:50 pm departing Thetis Island
8:10 pm departing Penelakut
9:05 pm departing Chemainus
9:50 pm departing Penelakut
10:10 pm departing Thetis Island
10:50 pm departing Chemainus
11:25 pm departing Penelakut

We require a specific number of crew members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations. Should any sailings be impacted, we will notify customers via Service Notice as soon as the information is confirmed.

The decision to cancel a sailing in these circumstances is made when we have exhausted all options to find replacement crew. If circumstances change and replacement crew become available, we would notify customers immediately.
