Fire Weather Forecast from Coastal Fire Centre
Friday, June 21, 2024 at 7:14AM Thurs-Sat: A ridge of high pressure has moved over the province. Temperatures throughout the Coastal Fire Centre will rise to above normal with mid 20s to low 30s north to south. Thursday afternoon and evening, weak thunderstorms could develop with a risk of wet lightning in areas of Vancouver Island, north Cascades, Manning and Tweedsmuir Parks. The risk is low.
CONFIDENCE/DISCUSSION: High confidence with the overall pattern, lower confidence on the thunderstorms/lightning. The fire risk will build through today and Friday. Subsides starting Saturday.
Sun-Mon of next week: Cooler and more unstable conditions are expected for the end of the weekend and start of the week, thanks to a low-pressure system moving from the Gulf of Alaska.
