Monday, June 3, 2024 at 7:34AM On 3 June in 1696, Edmond Halley announced his discovery that comets seen in 1531, 1607, and 1682 were in fact 3 separate observations of the same comet. This comet, now known as "Halley's comet", was last seen with the naked human eye from Earth in 1986 and will next be close to the Earth in July-August 2061.Set your watches!
