Thetis Island Trails
Monday, December 22, 2025 at 8:19AM The CVRD recently posted a weather precaution for parks and trails.
Thetis Island trail users are reminded to be aware that on-island trails have similar hazards and to exercise due diligence when walking the trails, in particular during periods of high winds, heavy rains and snowfall.
Weather conditions can increase the risk of:
Falling tree branches or uprooted trees
Slippery trails, bridges, and boardwalks
Reduced visibility
Flooding or muddy, unstable ground
To help keep yourself safe:
Avoid trails during storms or severe weather.
Stay alert for falling branches or leaning trees.
Turn back if trail conditions become unsafe.
Follow any posted closures or warning signs.
If you notice a hazardous condition, such as a fallen tree or damaged trail, please report it to tirraboard@thetisisland.net.
